TAWANderful 2012 (Day 1)

Our long awaited family trip to Taiwan is here! ^_^ After much planning (on my side), and comtemplating whether to bring DY along with us, we finally set off on the night of 31 October 2012 on Scoot flight TZ202.

This is DY first flight ever and he is very excited! Since its a midnight flight, he falls asleep soon after boarding and before taking off. Both kids and MW managed to grab some sleep while I as expected was wide awake throughout the 4.5hrs journey..

At 5.30a.m, 1 November, we reached Taoyuan International Airport Terminal 2. The kids are super excited and DY insisted on posing infront of these cute little mascots.

Hot breakfast from 7-11 in the airport. Surprisingly delicious!

We took the 7.15a.m express Tong Lian bus to Taichung to meet our driver of the day, Mr Chen.
Our first stop, Yuan Shou Guan. This is a newly established site and we are here purely for photo-taking.

Nice chessboard deco that are movable!

Even the powder room is so tastefully decorated.

Giant lollipop look-a-like that the kids can't resist!

Our first lunch in Taiwan. Our driver brought us here as we requested to eat where the locals patronized. Yummy!

Right after our lunch, a short 30-mins car ride brought us to 九族山地文化村. This theme park was not originally in my itinerary but as we were given a 1 for 1 discount voucher by the Taiwan Tourist Association, I squeezed it in just for the kids. See their happy faces!

I simply love this PIC!!!!!!

Taken by our photographer - aka ZhiYu!

ZY loved this ride and took it at least 5 times while DY braved himself and took the ride twice but both time shouted "Pa Pa!" =_=""

Sun Moon Lake is just beside the theme park. We took the cable car down and was able to see this largest lake in Taiwan with an aerial view.

Our last stop of the day - 文武廟

We reached 南投清境around 5plus and its starting to get dark. Our homestay for the next two days was 黃慶果園民宿. I found this homestay in the internet and it is highly recommended by the local Taiwanese. The room is nicely decorated and best of all, there is a BBQ cum garden right outside our door which the kids can run and explore.

Complimentary fruits..

Our dinner tonight is the locally very famous roasted chicken plus stirred fried cabbage and mushrooms. Even picky eater, MW has his thumbs up! The portion was so BIG that we shared it with a Singaporean couple who happened to stay in the same minsu as us. ^_^

Genting (Twice in a year!)

This was the second time we were in Genting this year as my parents were keen to go and my mother-in-law as usual, was ever ready to tag along. ^_^ There was a room promotion going on which allows members to use 3 genting points to book a room. We used my mother-in-law and MW points to redeem 4 rooms for all the 9 of us! What a deal!
