Korea WinterLand 2015 - Day 2 (Dongdaemun Stationery Street)

After a good night rest, we braced the cold 5 degree weather to Dongdaemun Stationery Street.

The subway system of Seoul is really good. We took the subway for most of the days and we had fun sitting on the heated seats and observing the different types of "priority seats" available in the trains. They even had a section with stronger heater for people who are afraid of cold!

The South Korean are also very well prepared for emergency, well stocked emergency storage are seen in every subway stations!

After some shopping, we walked along the Cheongyecheon Stream to the famous 一只鸡 restaurant.

This chicken soup is the best eaten in a cold winter day. We added in noodles for the kids and was told by the waiter that we can only order one time, that is, we can't order additional side order again?? Isn't it wierd?? Anyway, we were quite full hence it didn't bother us.

This street is also famous for its grilled fish but unfortunately, someone in the family is not too keen on fish hence I did not put this in the itinerary.

Next stop, shopping for my winter jacket! We went to Yeungdengpo Underground Shopping Street but was utterly disappointed by the choices available. Luckily, we ventured into Times Square and found an event hall inside Shinsaegae Shopping Centre having knock-off sale on winter apparels! Managed to grab a Korean Brand Turquoise winter jacket at a bargain price of KRW90,000 (Listed Price KRW300,000). ^_^

Our dinner for the day was a Chinese Restaurant that seems quite popular with the locals. They specialises in Jajangmyeon and seafood noodle soup. We ordered the korean style sweet and sour pork which both MW and I thinks that doesn't even come close to our local version in term of taste. However, the Jajangmyeon and fried rice tastes great and it was a pity we did not have time to come back here again.

We ended the day earlier today as we had to catch an early bus tomorrow at 7:55a.m in Myeongdong to Alpensia Ski Resort.

Great night view from our apartment overlooking the Seoul Namsan Tower!
