Korea WinterLand 2015 - Day 3 (Alpensia)

We took the Daewoo Purple Bus at 7.55am to YongPyeong Alpensia Resort. After a 3hr non-stop bus journey, we reached the snowy mountain of YongPyeong. We had an early check-in and free wifi as we are their club member.

We were very pleased with the 2-bedrooms suite with attached kitchen. The kids were thrilled!

Our view from the balcony. ^_^

We were famished by then as it was already 1 plus. There were some restaurants selling Japanese, Korean, Italian and fast food. We quickly settled for Japanese food upon the kids' request. DY simply fell in love with udon soup after his first try the first night in Seoul.

The kids were ecstatic to feel real snow for the first time! They wasted no time to start playing with the snow that had fallen on the side walk from last week snow blizzard.

ZY got a "BIG CATCH" ^_^

DY had started singing "Do you want to Build a Snowman" upon setting foot in Korea on the first day but he went beyond our control when he reached Alpensia. Guess he was really excited to be walking on snow covered land and couldn't control himself too!

We bought the half day pass for the kids and MW. As it was non peak season, there was no crowd and queue at all. So the kids practically sled and sled for the whole 3-hr session non stop! MW and I shared our pass and we took turns to sled with the kids. Initially, DY did not dare to sled on his own and according to the sledding field rules, kids below 7 years old need to be accompanied by an adults. But after a few try sledding with MW, my brave boy finally sled on his own without falling! Even the sledding staff on duty were surprised that DY was only 5 years old and can sled so well! ^_^

The sun set very early about 5.15p.m. everyday hence after sledding, it was still too early for dinner. We rested in our comfy apartment while watching a Chinese drama shown on the TV. After "nuaing" for about an hour, we finally layered ourselves again with layered of clothes and strolled down the quiet street of Alpensia looking for food. We decided on Pizza and pasta as ZY had a craving for it but the only Italian restaurant in Alpensia had sold out on all their pasta!! Feeling kinda disappointed, we went in GS25, a convenience chain stall in Korea, and finally decided to cook pasta marinara since I've bought some ham from Seoul. ^_^

Bought a big carton of large Korean Strawberry @ KRW10,000 for dessert. Superrrrrr Sweet & Juicy!! In total, we ate 4 big cartons of strawberry on our trip! ^_^
