Korea WinterLand - Day 8 (Ehwa, Sinchon, Gwanghwamen and Cheonggyecheon Xmas Lighting)

We had planned to go to the city of Suwon today but after discussing with MW, we concluded that the kids wouldn't be interested in a hike in this Fortress city. This is the beauty of a free & easy trip where we can make last minute changes to the itinerary. ^_^

We decided to go to the University Area (Ewha & Sinchon) and also revisit Cheonggyecheon Stream as they had just put up the Xmas lightning yesterday according to the local news.

Ehwa Women University has such a beautiful campus!!

It is also a woman shopping paradise but for a man, I think these two photos sum it up pretty well... ^_^

We had our lunch at a basement restaurant that mostly local patronized. It only sell these two types
of noodles which tasted so delicious that I can say that Its the Best Meal I had in Korea! They also had the best Kimchi which is so crunchy and fresh!

DY fell in love with udon noodles during this trip and kept on requesting to have noodles for every meal.

Although I'm very tempted to order another bowl of the delicious noodle soup, I reluctantly stopped myself from doing so as we had already promised the kids to go to the Korean Dessert Café which was situated just above the restaurant.

Sulbing, the famous Korean Ice Kacang, is a must-try in my list. I've ordered the premium strawberry Sulbing which cost around KRW12,000?? After trying it, I can say that it is just an expensive dessert that is way overstated.

Next, we took the subway to Cheonggyecheon Stream and Gwanghwamen Square. The weather was super cold today, in fact, weather forecast that the coming 3 days to be sub zero temperature.

Korea WinterLand 2015 - Day 7 (Part Two -Unhyeongung & Isadong)

After the Secret Garden Tour, we walk to Unhyeongung for Hanbok Phototaking session. On the way, we bought this chrysanthemum shape red bean filing dough cake which tastes fantastic!!

My initial plan was for the whole family to wear hanbok for some outdoor photo taking, however to my disappointment, they do not have child size hanbok, so since we were already there, I paid 3000krw for a short session just for ME! Hehehe... so I'll photobomb here with just some of my photos wearing an Imperial Queen gold-trimed Dangui.

We even let ZY tried my Dangui but too bad its just too big for her.

Thereafter, we took a 5 minutes walk to Isadong, an important place where old but precious and traditional goods are on display. It is the only place in Korea where all the signboards is in Hangul.

While we were at Ssamziegil Mall, DY was just too tired to walk any more hence, while he was napping at one of the bench with MW, ZY and I walk around this unique mall enjoying some ladies time.

After a 45 minutes nap, we woke DY and went to 宫馆 for some traditional Jeonju Bibimpbap. My grouchy boy who was not interested to eat at all but luckily we brought along some dried seaweed and cucumber which is a staple for the kids during meals.

Count on strawberry for a quick "perk me up" anytime!!
