3D2N @NSRCC

We've just spent 3 Days 2 Nights at the National Service Resort & Country Club (NSRCC). My sister-in-law booked the chalet with her company benefit to celebrate ZY's cousin ZhengYi one-yr-old birthday. The chalet was recently renovated and I must say it's a very nice and cozy place to rest & relax. With the chalet just a stone throw away from the beach, we can hear the sea waves and the feel the sea breeze while sitting lazily at the chalet's veranda. ZY loves the place and enjoyed her stay here very much.

ZY loves to run outside to look at the aeroplane every time she hears the roaring of the aeroplane approaching (which is too often and especially annoying around 12a.m.!)

ZY loves to act like a Big Sister and will "boss" the birthday boy around by restricting his movement on the walker. Sometimes, she will also entertain ZhengYi by dancing and singing songs to him :)

We spent alot of time at the pool and were pleasantly surprised to find a jacuzzi at the corner of the pool area where we quickly took a family pic!

It's great to have a short break on a normal week to get away from the hustle and bustle of our daily lives. We definitely want to come back here again! ^_^

"打包"

ZY brought this home today after playgroup. Yes, she "打包" her soiled uniform.

The first thought that came to my mind was that she had wet herself during school (which definitely surprised me as this had never happened before). However, her teacher told me that it was because ZY vomited while she cried this morning. ZY had been crying every morning when she is about to enter school for the past couple of weeks. This is really out of the ordinary as she had never cried in school ever since she started playgroup at the beginning of the year.

Every morning, ZY will wake up happily but when she realises that it's a weekday and she needs to attend playgroup, she will start to weep and keeps on telling me that she do not want to go to school. Even though both MW and I have been asking her for the reason behind her crying bout, we never actually got a clear answer. Sometimes, she might say that there is a "monster" in school, whereas sometimes she just said that she don't like school. I've talked to her teachers about this and they told me that they also noticed a slight changed in ZY's behaviour recently. She seems to be easily frightened and needed to be reassured frequently. However, once she settled down, she seems to be perfectly at ease and will always smiled happily at me when I fetched her. I'm really at my wit's end, I even brought ZY to the 四马路 temple to pray and brought back flowers for her to bathe in.

No matter how much I've reassured her that mummy loves her and that her teachers adored her, she will keep on telling me that she don't want to go to school. It really breaks my heart to hear her screaming her heart out when her teacher carries her and closes the door every morning. My only consolation is that her crying bout seems to be getting shorter and are less intense everyday. Hopefully, after the June holiday, ZY will be back to her usual self and continues to enjoy her time at playgroup.

Mummy's Bak Chang

Making Bak Chang at home is a very time consuming and tiring thing. From preparing the ingredients to washing the bamboo leaves, it will take 2-3 days of hard work! However, my mum loves to make Bak Chang at home for us every year as we love the taste of it as all those store bought ones simply cannot compared with hers. Every year, when I see her working non-stop to prepare the ingredients, I 'll tell her not to make them the next year as I can't bear to see her working so hard to satisfy our picky taste buds. I even asked her if she is happy to work so hard just to make the Bak Chang for us, and she will definitely answered me with a smile and said "Yes!".

Although I don't know how to prepare the ingredients and seasoning, I love to help her wrap up the Bak Chang. As you can see from the photo below, I'm wearing gloves while making the Bak Chang not because I'm trying to get Grade A for hygience ok but because I've a pair of very sensitive hands. They will become itchy if they are expose to moisture for too long :(

The delicious end product..which consist of braised pork belly, dried scallops, shitake mushrooms, minced pork, chestnuts and salted egg yolks. Simply Irresistably!! :P

Seoul Yummy!

My daddy treated us to dinner as he had a small windfall last week. We found a small Korean restaurant tucked at the corner of the 4th storey of Square 2. Craving for something Korean, we went in to have a try. The place was almost full house as it was a Friday night. Their food is quite authentic and the service is great! They had 6 plates of side dishes which was so yummy that we had many refills :P

We ordered about 9 dishes for the 5 of us and it cost only $108 (incl. taxes) and I must say it's really affordable. Will definitely go back again soon :)

We finishes off our dinner with some sweet treats. The yogurt with green tea sauce is quite yummy as the slightly sour yogurt matches well with the sweet watermelon cubes. However, I still prefer the dessert at MOF anytime :)

P.S. BTW, it case u r wondering, the restaurant is called "Seoul Yummy"

ZY's First Homework

Today, ZY's Chinese teacher, Ms Chen gave the children their first homework! It's a parent-child assignment that we have to do together at home. It's a simple task of painting/pasting anything that is blue in colour.

This is what we had done ^U^

Happy Days @ Genting

We had spent 3 tired but very enjoyable days at Genting last weekend and was back home yesterday night. While MW & the two mommies had a great time at the casino, I enjoyed my time with ZY and my sis-in-law at the theme parks. As this was the second trip to Genting for ZY, she was quite familiar with the place and thoroughly enjoyed herself.

ZY spent the long 6-hrs coach journey by playing with the video games and 'relaxing' at the lounge area at the lower deck.

I've bought unlimited all theme park passes for ZY and she tried on all the children rides. At RM31, it's really worth it! ZY took so many rides in these 3 days that I've lost count on how many times she took the rides. As there were not many people at certain times, ZY will just get out after each round and move to another car without having to re-queue again :) Do u notice that the cars that ZY was sitting are all different?

On the second day, we spent the whole morning at the Outdoor Theme Park. It was a super sunny day and hence you can see that most of the pictures taken here are with ZY squinting her eyes.

This was the first time that ZY tried on the junior bumper car ride. At first, she was still quite daring and managed to 'drive' the car well, but after a few bumps, she started to cry and had to be carried out of the car by the attendant.

Finally, a ride on the monorail!! We did not manage to board the monorail on the last trip as it was under maintenance, so ZY was super happy to be on it this time. ^_^

This is a new addition to the park called the "Beryl's Chocolate Wonderland". The chocolate shaped seats are so cute so I asked ZY to sit on it. However, the seats are very slippery and ZY fell backwards and hit her back on the small bolts on the fence. So this little girl cried again here..my poor baby!

ZY loves the Topsy Turvy Play area situated at First World Hotel. Actually, its nothing great compared to those in Singapore, but I guess no kids will be able to reject any kind of slides and tunnels. ZY demanded that she wants to be here again as she had enjoyed it very much during our last trip.

As we were at Genting on Mother's Day, we celebrated this special day with two other mommies, my mother and my mother-in-law by having a international buffet dinner at the Coffee Terrace in Genting Hotel. We did not take any nice group picture here as ZY chose this time to be uncooperative and refused to look at the camera. Hiaz...
