Fun@ Fidgets!

After seeing so many of my blogger friends bringing their kids to Fidgets and having so much fun there, we decided to bring ZY to Fidgets today. ZY was very excited when I told her that we were going to this big indoor playground yesterday night, and as expected, the first thing she said this morning was, "We are going to the Yippee Ya Ya place!" (she saw a similar indoor playground in the children's song "Yippee Ya Ya" video)

She spent a fabulous two hours running up and down, sliding down the slide umpteen times while poor MW followed tiredly behind her ^_^ (In my hurry, I've put on a pair of jeans skirt hence not very convenient for me to climb, hehehe..)

I've jokingly commented to ZY that the indoor playground at Genting is better than Fidgets, but this clever little girl refuted that Fidgets is much better and immediately asked me if I could take her there again tommorrow! Oh NO!!

The Making of a Domestic Goddess?

Ever since ZY has her first taste of agar agar on her cousin's birthday party, this little girl fell in love with it. She keeps on asking me for more agar agar so I decided to let her make her own jelly :)

She is very enthusiastic, and carefully followed my instructions. (she did not spill any sugar or the agar agar solution at all!)

This is a sample of the agar agar make by ZY today.

ZY having a taste of her 处女作 ^_^

With such a fun and successful first attempt, I'll definitely engage ZY's help in the future when I'm making cookies or baking cakes!

Me & My House

ZY insisted that we did a painting today though it's close to her dinner time. Hence, we quickly get ready all the material and got to work without any idea what to paint. So we started with a simple house and ZY gradually added the green grass and blue sky. Adding ZY's picture was a last minute touch up but I think it looks great. ^_^

Finally, ZY has mastered the "art of cutting" ^^

Farmart Tour

We joined the farmart tour organised by Sun Plaza last Sunday. The tour consist of a 45-mins guided tour plus presentation and a 15-mins free & easy time. The presentation conducted by William Ho "The Quail Man of Lim Chu Kang" was quite interesting as he talked about many things like "how to differentiate the sex of a Quail, Frog or crabs","the name of quail in different languages", "life cycle of the quail" etc. However, ZY was quite restless throughout the 45-mins presentation and kept on asking us where was the playground, hiaz...

Visiting the goats at the Animal Corner. This was the first time that ZY fed a live goat and she was very excited about it.

I See, So I Do

Imagine my surprise when I walked into my room and saw these neatly folded clothes on my bed.

ZY amazed me by folding all her clothes that I've taken down from the laundry pole. Guess she has been quietly observing her daddy while he is folding the clothes as her folding pattern is exactly the same as her daddy. ^_^

Run, Run, As Fast As You Can...

.
...you can't catch me, I'm The Gingerbread Man!

Today, we went to the Alliance Française de Singapour at Sarkies Road to watch ACE! Festival 2009: The Gingerbread Man. Its a 50 minutes theatrical show meant for kids 3 years old an above.

This is the first time that ZY attended a theatrical show so I had briefly prepared her by telling her in advance that there will be a lot of children sitting down on chairs with the lights dimmed so that we can see the people singing and dancing on the stage. As usual, ZY told me that she is 怕怕, so I told her that she can sit on my laps for a while if she is really frightened.

As ZY knew that the show was about gingerbread man, she kept on asking me where was the gingerbread man the very minute we reached the theatre and also throughout the show! Anyway, its a very entertaining show as it has some very catchy songs and colourful characters like the sly fox and gingerbread man. The performers also interacted with the audiences by asking questions and also running around the aisles while chasing after the gingerbread man. The children were so excited to be able to see the character up close and were thoroughly enthralled by it! ZY would also laugh when the performers made funny moves and sound.

(I forgot to bring my camera, so took these "blur" pictures from hand phone)

ZY sat on my laps for the beginning 5 mins but then proceeded to her booster seat after she was used to the dim light)

Although I think that ZY is still too young to understand the storyline, I'm still happy that she was able to behave well throughout the whole 50 minutes show. We will definitely bring her to more of such show in the future and hopefully it will not be long before we can bring her to enjoy world class musical! Hahaha..

唐诗朗诵

I always wanted to teach ZY some 唐诗, but I never did as I thought that it's too early to teach now. However, after seeing my fellow blogger friend's video of her girl reciting 唐诗, I decided to give it a try :)

I will usually read the 唐诗 aloud to ZY while we are lying on the bed at night before we sleep. After about two nights, she will be able to recite it together with me (with some prompting at my side). I'm really surprised at how fast this little girl can remember the words.

I took this video shortly after ZY woke up from her nap today, hence explained her tousled hair and a little 口齿不清. ^_^

Playgroup - Term 2

Finally the June holiday is here. Hurray! As for at least one month, I do not have to endure ZY's morning whining and also nagging her to quickly partake her breakfast. -_-"

Anyway, ZY brought back her Term 2 workbooks last Friday. She was so proud of her works that she couldn't wait to show them to her daddy and me. Here's a glimpse of some of them.

In addition to the above, ZY also made a Mother's Day card and decorated an Easter Egg (which greedy mummy had eaten b4 she could take any picture of it, oops!)

ZY also brought back this new tracing workbook, for the little ones to practice at home. (Just in case you are wondering why is the school giving a 3 yrs-old child homework for the holidays, relax ya, its purely for fun, we do not have to complete them and hand it back to the teacher ^^)
