Our Annual Christmas Tradition

I still remember clearly writing the Christmas post last year and I wrote that the same day next year, there will be an additional member in our family. And here we are, the newest member opening or should I say tearing open his Christmas presents. ^_^

ZY, as usual, woke up super early as she knew she could open her present today.

A Big Thanks to the grandparents, uncles and aunties for these presents!

It's our annual Christmas tradition to go to Sembawang Park on Christmas Day. It's also DY first time to the beach and seeing the waves. He was very curious and kept on looking at the lapping waves!

and refused to look at the camera no matter how I coaxed him, hiaz..

We took a family photo on this bench 4 years ago when ZY was only 10 months old. Now there are 4 of us!

This was also DY first time on a swing and he was a bit stunned at the beginning. But he started to relax and almost dozed off on the moving swing! ^_^

While DY was sleeping soundly on his stroller, ZY had a great time at the playground.

A photo taken at the Beaulieu House after we had taken our lunch. ZY loved sitting on the trishaw and kept on asking her daddy to drive her around. I think we may go on a trishaw ride one of these days and be a tourist for a day just for the fun of it!

DY @ 9-Month Old

My dear boy is 9 month old today!

DY is now learning to pick up food to eat on his own with his thumb and forefinger. He is still trying as he mostly prefers to play with the food rather than eating them. Funny though, he seems to have no problem putting his toys in his mouth... =_="
He can crawl super fast now and it can be very tiring running after him. Guess that is the reason why I don't get fat no matter how much I eat!

DY is showing his temperament now even at a young age of 9 months old. He will scream his lungs out just because he had waited a few seconds for his meal. He can also be very persistent and will try to do things that we disapproved of no matter how many times we have scolded him. Whenever we scold him, he will "talk back" at us by making noises. We must really be firm with him even though he is still young as I believe we have to teach him the right things at the beginning. I'm sure he understand us as sometimes he will cry when we reprimanded him.

He has started teething since last month and his two lower central incisors finally buds out.
Can you see his two little pearlies?

After many reminders and his sister's demostrations, DY has finally learned how to crawl down my bed with his legs down first. Hopefully he will remember it everytime he wants to come down as he has crawled up my bed after his nap many times when I'm not in the room.

For the record, DY is now 9.1kg and 74cm tall.
ZY is 16.9kg and 110cm tall.
(Also decided to record ZY's weight and height here for record purpose lor! hahaha..)

Visit to Discovery Centre

We revisited the Discovery Centre last Tuesday. This was the second time we were there and nothing much had changed. We took a few photos and left the place after two hours as it was freaking cold inside!

Cuties on a plate!

Sitting on a "SHOCKER"

Didn't know why ZY lifted up her blouse in this "telephone booth"? Maybe because she taught that she is Supergirl?

My mum's All-Time Favourite Toy!

This is a computer generated image of how ZY will look like as an adult!

and DY!

Will look back at this photo 20 years from now and see if it is correct!

Birthday Celebration @ Rose Veranda

We went to the Rose Veranda at Shangri-la Hotel to celebrate my birthday last Friday. I always love to eat cakes and tarts so I thought I give this restuarant a try and act like a tai-tai for a day. ^_^

The nice rose motiff teapots and cups.

Cheesecake, Strawberry Shortcake and Mango Mint Minestrone

Strawberry Macaroon, Chocolate Cremeux, Scones, Bread & Butter Pudding, Mini Profiteroles.

The "International" Spread, which I did not eat much...

Because I aiming for these!!!
ZY had a special order of Chicken Rice which was not in the buffet spread. My dad mentioned to the staff that there was not much food that ZY could eat so the staff took the initiative to offer us chicken rice and brought it to our table. That's what I call Service!! Thumbs up! ^_^

Had a filling and satisfying lunch and DY managed to fall alseep on the super comfy couch while we leisurely enjoyed our food. There is no better way to celebrate my birthday than with my loved ones.

Last Day of Nursery

Today, the day ZY dreaded, finally came.

ZY had totally enjoyed her days in her favourite teacher, Mrs Goh's class. She always looked forward to weekdays and will tell me that she hated weekends as she would not be able to see Mrs Goh!

Anyway, 天下没有不散的宴席, I've already told her that she will be in K1 next year and a new teacher will be teaching her. Hopefully, with half of her classmates in the same K1 class as her, she will not feel so lonely.

These are some of the photos taken today by Mrs Sim while the kids were having some fun in class.

Thank you, Mrs Goh and Mrs Sim! To ZY, you are the greatest!

Friendship Charms

Nowaday, ZY is into beads.

She will lace the beads into necklace, bracelets, rings, handphone charms... you name it, she can/will do it.

It's funny to see her face full of concentration when she is threading the beads, as compared to her usual funny self.

She has made a charm and hanged it on her school bag which received many admired comments from her classmates. Her current best friend, Yuan Ting even asked ZY to "buy" one for her last week, so my dear girl pestered me to buy some more beads for her.

Here's the charm that ZY made today. Of course, ZY also made one for her favourite teacher, Mrs Goh!

DY @ 8-Month Old

My little prince is now able to roam around the whole house by crawling and had a great time exploring to forbidden places and testing our patience. He loves to put all kinds of things in his mouth and hence we have to take extra care not to leave small items on the floor. DY loves to play with ZY and will definitely smile when he hears ZY's voice. He is very accomodating and will tolerate his sister rough play most of the time, though he do grumps and complain at times.

I'm still breastfeeding him as he will have diarrhea even when I'm drinking milk made from milk powder. Wierd though, this will not happen if I'm drinking fresh milk...

DY is now 71cm tall and weighs 8.4kg.

These photos were taken just after his bath and I can't resist taking them as DY looks so relax and cute!

EAT, PLAY, RELAX @ Fairmont

We spent the weekend at Fairmont Singapore as they are having an American Express promotion that include breakfast and dinner for 2 @ $190++. We checked in at around 2p.m. on Saturday and immediately headed for the pool as the rain has just stopped and we wanted to have a swim before the kids had their nap.

DY totally enjoyed the dip in the pool but he splashes the water so much that his eyes became red from the chlorinated pool water.

Although I had planned for the kids to take their nap after the swim, before our dinner, they refused to rest and had a great time playing in the baby cot instead...

which happens to have a great view!

We had our dinner at The Plaza Market Cafe (part of the package) but was quite disappointed by the spread. At the usual price of $45++ per person, it was totally Not Worth It!

ZY, as usual, had her eyes on the chocolate fountain the whole night. However, I insisted that she had eaten her fried rice and broccoli before touching the desserts.
After a heavy dinner, we decided to burn off the calories the easy way out, Shopping!! ^_^
Btw, ZY is wearing a necklace that she had made by herself.

Took a family photo before the kids headed to bed and I managed to sneak out to have a relaxing time at the Willow Stream Spa.

Next morning, we had a sumptuous buffet breakfast at the Prego. They have more varieties of food here compared to The Market Plaza Cafe and we had a great time sampling the food.

ZY is wearing a hand-knitted dress made by my auntie for me when I was about ZY's age. My mum has longed passsed it down to my Malaysia relative but I managed to retrieve back recently. ^_^

We went back to The Plaza Market Cafe for high-tea as we were given an extra set of complimentary voucher. ^_^ Luckily, the spread for high tea were better and I had my fill of my favourite pastries, cakes and scones.

The scones are very moist in the centre and I ate it (two big pieces) with heapful of whipped cream and clotted cream, hmmmm...

It's always great to go for a short staycation in a hotel and recharged ourselves without having to travel far especially with two young kids in tow.

Eat, Play & Relax, there is no better way to spend quality time with my family. ^_^
