And so the fight begins...

I've mentioned in my earlier post that ZY has got a new cousin, Zheng Yi, who is now 6 months old. He stays with my mother-in-law and so whenever we tell ZY that we are going to visit Ah Ma, she will be very excited. ZY likes to touch babies and squeeze their little fingers/toes. When no one is watching, she will also hugs the babies and puts her face close to the babies so tightly that both their faces are abit distorted. So you can see, my girl really LOVES babies. Even though I have repeatedly teach ZY to be more gentle towards babies, she just seemed to have problem controlling her sense of touch :(

It is unfortunate for Zheng Yi that he got himself into the position as ZY's current "squeeze". For the past few times, he would quietly endured ZY's overwhelming gestures. But, when ZY accidentally scratches this poor boy face yesterday, he pulled ZY's hair whenever ZY was near him afterwards! He even managed to scratch ZY's face without anyone's notice, hahaha!!

And so, at the young age of 6 & 33 months, they have their 1st fight!

You see the scratch below ZY's left eye and Zheng Yi's right cheek? That's their "Zhan Li Pin"

The Photographer

ZY has acquired a new hobby recently. She has found out that she can take pictures with my new Canon camera :(

She will take my camera and take pictures whenever she fancy. Sometimes, it really surprised me to find pictures in the camera that this little up and coming photographer has taken. Some of this pictures are so well taken that i feel obliged to held a mini exhibition for some of her masterpieces :) Let's now sit back and enjoy!

The Children Club @ Moulmein

There is a children library a stone throw away from my mum's place. It is formerly a public children's library run by the National Library Board. However, due to poor response (as reported by NLB), the library is closed down on April this year. Luckily, a private organisation agreed to take over the operation of the library and hence it reopened just a week ago :)

Today, I took ZY to the library, now renamed as The Children Club, to have a look inside. The person-in-charged told me that since the club is privatised now, we need to become a member ($5/child for 2 years) in order to utilize the facilities. However, since ZY is less than 5 years old, she is not required to become a member unless she wants to borrow the books :)

Overall, this library is quite a cozy place and with the built in toilet, its great to bring ZY here for both reading and playing at the playground located just in front of it :)

Balloon Painting

Today, I let ZY tried balloon painting for the 1st time. I must admit that I usually let her free play most of the time and did not really take an effort to teach her the different ways of painting, drawing etc..hiaz (sorry dear, I'm a lazy mummy) I really feel ashamed after seeing some mummies' blogs and the things they teach their kids everyday. So from today onwards, I will try to let her learn at least one new thing per week and stop being so laid-back.

ZY has tried using paint brush and her fingers to draw before. When I told her that we were going to use balloon to draw today, she seemed very interested. Once she started, she couldn't stop and kept asking me to put more paints on the tray for her! She even suggested painting with the frangipani that we brought back during our walk to the nearby shop! Of course I did let her try painting with the flower but the effect was not as good as the one made by the balloon, hence she quickly abandoned her new one minute project and eagerly went back to the balloon painting.

ZY's Masterpiece :D

My girl is so keen on trying new things :) Even though we usually spend our time at home dancing, reading, singing and playing, they are not methodical learning. I must really try to do more research and introduce more creative and interesting things to her.

My Sick Baby

ZY has come down to a high fever of 39.2 degree today :(

It started with her having running nose yesterday afternoon. Then MW told me that ZY is a bit feverish when he hugged her good night. At 4 a.m. in the morning, ZY wakes up and called me. I gave her some paracetamol liquid and she went back to a fitful sleep.

When she wakes up today, she is very cheerful even though still having fever. She evens insist on helping me to do housework!

She likes to play with the thermometer but hates to put the cooling gel on her forehead, guess the sudden coldness is a bit uncomfortable to her.

Guess ZY is still sick after all, because after a day play, she tiredly lied down on the bed to rest :(

Going to the Wet Market

ZY always accompany me to the nearby wet market, but since it's SUPER HOT today morning, I decided to go to the market by myself. However, upon seeing me changing out of my pajamas, ZY firmly announced that she wants to go with mummy too. No amount of reasoning can talk her out of her decision. Hence, I decided to drag MW along too so that he can take pics for us :) If it is a normal weekday (except Thur), MW will be more than willing to join us. However since today is Sunday, which means that his favourite online game is giving out double experience point, he is extremely reluctant to go..hiaz

But as usual, the girls in the family always win :) So he has no choice but to guai guai follow us :)

1st Stop: The Vegetable Stall

ZY selecting her favourite cucumber :)

I also like to take the opportunities to teach ZY about the different types of vegetables..

Posing beside the fruit stall

ZY patiently waiting beside me while I'm choosing her daddy's favourite Yong Tau Foo

ZY clinging on to me (good girl :) she knows that she has to stay by mummy side & not wander off by herself)

Then is off she goes to the last pit-stop: her favourite bookshop cum toy stall :)

Playground, Playground, Playground

I can confidently say that ZY is not the only kid that is obsessed with playground.

No matter where she goes, her eyes will automatically scan for the nearest playground and if she spotted one within her radar, she will sheepishly ask the adult who is with her "Baby go and see if the playground is wet or not." The reason for her asking this qns is because she hates dirty playground, so whenever she saw any slide that is wet after the rain, she will says "Eeeeeeeee" and walk away. So in another words, she is actually asking if she can play in the playground when she said she wanted to check if it is wet.

We stay at Sembawang and I must say that it is one of the neighbourhood area in Singapore that has the most playground. You can find 4 playgrounds along a 10 mins walk from my block to the MRT station alone! My girl even named them as Mummy playground (I usually bring her there in the evening), Daddy playground (MW brings her to this playground during weekend), NTUC playground (the one nearest to NTUC) & one slide playground (obviously b'cos this big playground only has ONE slide).

Fate has it that, even my parent's house has 3-4 playgrounds at the precinct. The "Ding Ding Dong" playground (the playground has a built-in xylophone), jiu jiu playground etc etc...

But to "balance" things off, ZY's Ah Ma house at Simei is also one of the few places in Singapore that has very few playgrounds. Hence she sadly pronounced Ah Ma house as "not nice". (Luckily, she recently got herself a playmate, a cousin whom I will blog about next time so now she says Ah Ma house is "nice")

Anyway, these are some of ZY pics at the playground.

Our Weekly Bus Trip

It has been ZY & my weekly routine since she is 3 mth old to visit my parent every Friday and stay for the night. For the past 2 years, we always took the MRT and then change to a bus. But ever since ZY stop sitting on her pram, we have been taking a direct bus trip. At first, I am a bit apprehensive of the journey as it will take about 45-55 mins. I do not know whether ZY can "tahan" the journey or not, especially since she is not wearing diaper anymore. I tell myself, worse come to worse, we will alight the bus should she becomes too "loud" for the comfort of the other passengers :)

Anyway, more than 6 months has passed, and I'm happy to say that ZY is an absolute angel when she is in the bus. She enjoys looking out of the window, commenting on all and any kinds of things that caught her attention. She will ask me all kinds of questions and remember things that I have told her during our past trips. When we passed by ChongPang, she will definitely remind me without fail that she had had a fall there and says, "Mummy, (pointing at)ChongPang, remembers..Baby fell down there?" :)

Here are some of the photos that I've taken today..

My girl waiting at the bus-stop..

Today, I forgot to bring my EZLink card, hence have to pay by cash, ZY keep asking me why mummy don't need to tap her card.

Sometimes ZY will also sings songs.

15 mins left of the journey and my girl will request to lie down on my lap :)

I must say that we really enjoy our weekly bus trip and is always looking forward to it!

First Posting: My Birthday

This is my first time writing a blog and hence I decided to officiate the blog with my birthday celebration :)

Today Mingwei & I went to the famous Goodwood Park Hotel English Afternoon Tea to celebrate my birthday. I have longed wanted to eat a traditional English High Tea and Mingwei's colleague recommended this place to us. We decided not to bring Zhi Yu along as the timing clash with her nap and most importantly, I wanted to have some relaxing couple time with MW (sori dear, mummy will bring u there when u r older ok)

The food there is ok, I especially like the savouries, but the desserts are a big disappointment. Moreover, they has a limit of 2 types of drink for each guest, hence, we are not able to try as many of their specialities tea as we wanted. The service is almost not up to standard as their waiters/waitresses did not smile at all throughout the whole service and they also did not clear the plate promptly. Overall, at the price of S$38/pax, we give this place an unsatisfactory 2.5 stars out of 5.

After eating, we went window-shopping to look for suitable Christmas present for ZY. We bought a mini cake to my mum place so that ZY can sing her favourite birthday song to her mommy :) Here is the pic of my darling :)
