Racial Harmony Day

Like all the schools in Singapore, ZY's kindergarten celebrated Racial Harmony Day in school today. Although they are requested to wear their own ethnic group traditional costumes, I've dressed ZY in a Vietnam's Ao dai, a long tunics with pants, bought by my mum on her last trip to Vietnam. Reason being, ZY has outgrown her Qipao and I wanted her to wear her Vietnam dress a few more times before it becomes too small for her.

ZY was very excited about this day and woke up immediately when I called her, unlike her usual dilly-dally. She was very cooperative and was out of the house earlier than usual!

I've asked ZY's teacher, Mrs Sim to help me take some photos of the celebration in class. All the pretty princesses and handsome princes in Chinese Qipao, Nonya Kebaya, Japan Kimono and not forgetting, Vietnam's Ao dai!

Chinese Book Spree

I've recently joined a book spree from a forum for these Chinese books. It's really a great deal but most importantly, ZY loves them! ^_^

Also bought some parenting books for myself after seeing the good reviews.

MacDonald Open Door Tour

I saw the advertisment of MacDonald Open Door Tour on TV and decided to register for it. It would be a good opportunity for ZY to see how her favourite french fries are made. The "tour" started slightly after four p.m. today and it ended a short 15 minutes later. We walked around the kitchen and were able to see how each of the food items are prepared. We even went into the super cold walk-in freezer that is kept about minus 15-23 degree celcius. ZY was curious about the tour and asked me quite a few questions like, "What is that for?", "Why are they wearing gloves?"

Overall, it's a short and simple tour that's good for our kids to join in to know about fast food.

No pics are allowed during the tour, so...

Cousin Wayne's Full Month Celebration

The newest member of the Tai's family, Wayne Tai, celebrated his full month today.  He is 3 months younger than DY and looks just like his dad! His daddy brought him to my parents' house to pray to our ancester and I took some photos of the cousins together.

Thereafter, we went to their house at Hougang for the celebration. They booked the Karaoke Room at the RC centre and ZY had her maiden "stage" singing today!

To Mummy...Love, ZhiYu

I'm so surprised and happy to see this "bento" made by ZY for me. This is her first time making bento and I do think that she has done a pretty nice job decorating the lunch box! ^_^

Fun-Filled Day

We went to the Singapore Art Museum today as I knew of the exhibition especially for kids - Art Garden: Children's Season at the Singapore Art Museum.

As it was raining very heavily, we reached SAM at about 5.45p.m. and only managed to spend an hour plus here. This was the first time we visited SAM @8Q, another building just beside the main one and we had a fun and eye-opening time here.

Thereafter, we had a dinner reservation at Raffles Hotel's Bar & Billard Room. ZY still remember coming here when she was about 3years old and was looking forward to come here again.

The spread of the day!

ZY enjoyed eating the pasta in tomato sauce and a whole piece of blueberry cheesecake and many fruit tarts. I must say, she is like me, both of us had sweet tooth!
We ended the day with a game of billard..hehehe

My 4-Month old Botak Boy

DY turns 4 month old today.

Just like ZY, we brought DY to 华夏胎毛笔中心 at KKH to shave his hair and made it into 胎毛笔.

This is his before and after photos. I personally prefer him with his hair, what do you think? ^_^

For the record, DY is now 6.5kg and about 64cm tall.
