A Fun Day @ Daddy's Office

We went to MW's office today as his company is celebrating it's 50th Anniversary Birthday Bash. We reached there at about 10a.m. when the party has just started so there was still relatively little crowd. ZY had a fun time doing a lot of things for the first time today, for examples,

~ First time trying out  "Emiko Arts"

~ First time tasting cotton candy (which by the way she doesn't like)
~ first time having a tattoo

~ and first time playing "fishing game"

She also managed to get a flower balloon from this cute uncle though her initial request was to have a butterfly balloon which the uncle didn't know how to make.

Last but not least, an instant family photo with the 50th Anniversary logo on it as a souvenir. ^_^

"Pasta (In Love)"

Recently I'm hooked on the Korean Drama Series, "Pasta (in love)" . With an Italian restuarant in Seoul as the background, it's a story about an aspiring woman working her way up with the goal of becoming a true chef. Of course, romance some how found its way into the story line, making it a winning combination for me, Food + Love = DIE DIE MUST WATCH!!

I will crave for pasta everytime I watched an episode. So, yesterday, I decided to make the very simple Spaghetti Aglio e Olio (Pasta in Olive Oil and Garlic), which happens to be the very first dish that the lead actress has mastered in the drama series. I've added bacon to my recipe as I believe the fragrant bacon fats will enhance the taste of the dish. ^_^

Simply fried some bacon strips in good quality olive oil till slightly crispy, add in minced garlic and fresh chopped chili. Then add in cooked spaghetti and seasoned with salt and pepper to taste. Voila!

Updates on PreSchool

ZY had started attending Nursery Two at Hope Community Kindergarten for three weeks now and I'm happy to say that other than the first three days when she cried, she has been excited to go to school everyday.

Sometimes, ZY will ask me why she need not go to school on weekends even though she knew that it's rest days and tell me that she misses her teacher, Mrs Goh. On some nights, she goes even further by telling me that she wanted to sleep earlier so that she can go to school on time the next day! Last Friday, when it was raining heavily in the early morning, I told ZY that we might not be able to go to school as the wind was blowing too strongly for us to hold an umbrella but this little girl simply suggest that we could wear raincoat to show her determination of attending school. ^_^

I've stopped sending ZY to school every morning as I want her to get used to going to school with MW instead. Our plan is that I can make used of the morning 3hrs to do housework or to attend to Bay Bay (once he is born) and will only fetch ZY when school ends at 11a.m. So far, ZY is happy with the arrangement and hopefully she will continue to enjoy and look forward to going to school everyday!

Photo taken at my kitchen window. ZY happily holding her daddy's hand, on their morning stroll to the school. (No more chanting the ever familiar, "I don't want to go to school..")

Small But Mighty

ZY followed us to the hospital for my 34 week routine checkup as MW took leave today and we intend to bring her out after seeing the doctor. However, due to some other special cases, we waited for one and half hour before its our turn.

Once inside the room, ZY became very excited and kept on asking me when she could see Bay Bay in the TV (ultrasound scanning machine monitor). When she finally saw the image, she became restless as she couldn't make out the baby's head from his toe. ^_^

As I had lost some weight these couple of weeks, the doctor was concerned about the growth of the baby (my total weight gain at this moment is 6.5kg). However, after the scanning, he found that the baby is well and growing, with a current estimated weight of 1.74kg. He even mentioned that the baby is small but mighty as during the short scan, Bay Bay moved and kicked alot! (well, Bay Bay will be borned in the Year of the Tiger, so...) Dr Wee predicted that Bay Bay will probably be slightly under 3kg at birth so that means he will be around the same size as ZY who was 2.992kg at birth.

My next appointment is in another 3 weeks time, hopefully by then, Bay Bay will gain slightly more weight.

Go... Fly a Kite!

ZY loves Saturday as it is the only day that her Jiu Jiu is not working and hence able to bring her out for outdoor stuff like, kicking balls, jogging around the playground and cycling. Lazy mum and dad usually prefer those nice air-conditioned places with minimum sweating and running so its good that ZY has a Jiu Jiu who loves to bring her outdoor for the much needed exercise and fresh air! ^_^

Yesterday, Jiu Jiu brought ZY to the nearby field to "try" flying a kite. I said 'try' because its the first time both of them are attempting to fly a kite. It's a windy day so we were all very hopeful!

This is the highest that the kite goes..wondering why it did not fly higher??

After much trying, we enlisted the help of MW, who is the most experienced among us. However, ZY was getting abit impatient by then...she even complained to her daddy that Jiu Jiu kept on playing with the kite and she did not have a chance to play for once! (talk about complain queen =_=")

So, while the boys were trying their best to fly the kite, I kept ZY occupied..

Finally, ZY had the chance to hold on to the flying kite. And she is good, she would tug at the string when the kite was flying low and released her hold when the wind was blowing strong. ^_^

See how happy she was.

Happy Birthday to my Gong Gong & Po Po

ZY's Gong Gong & Po Po's birthday happens to be only 4 days apart, hence we had a joined birthdays celebration for them at Sushi Teh @ City Square. All of us love the food at Sushi Teh and are super happy that there is a branch at the newly opened City Square which also happens to be within walking distance from Po Po's house. ^_^ (hurray! no more queuing at Raffles City!)
These are what we had ordered that day plus a few more plates of salmon sushi, hotate sushi and salmon sashimi..yummy!

Thereafter, we sang happy birthday to the grandparents and of course, ZY loves to cut the cake.

First Day Of School @ Hope Community Kindergarten

Like many other kids, ZY starts going to school today. Its a brand new environment for her and she is full of anticipation and excitement. She started packing her bag last night by putting all kinds of "essentials" inside, which I duly took out due to sheer limitation of space in her small bag.

We woke up at 7.30a.m. today as her class starts at 8.00a.m. After drinking her milk, we quickly set off. This picture of my yawning girl and the black camera leash clearly showed our state of mind at this early hour!

ZY is in the class named "LOVE" which has 19 children. Her English teacher is Mrs Goh and Chinese teacher is Mrs Sim. There is also a young teacher by the name of Ms Joanne whom I think is an assistant teacher. Her form teacher, Mrs Goh, is quite patient with kids and seems to be quite friendly as well. Hopefully, ZY will like all her teachers and classmates and can enjoy herself in school.

Even though I'm with ZY for the whole 2 hours, she still weep twice when she did not see me while she went to the toilet and queuing up to go home... hiaz

This is ZY's dinosaur. Quite nice ya! ^_^
