Christmas Lightings @ Orchard

We went to Orchard Road last Thursday for my birthday dinner and took the opportunity to take some photos of the Christmas decoration along the road. As it was a weekday and also right after a thunderstorm, there wasn't much crowd that day. ^_^

Nowaday, ZY loves to make funny faces infront of the camera hence you will see her either opening her mouth (really BIG) or purposely looking sideway (imitation of the 60s famous pose?) in most of the photos that I've taken. Hiaz...

Christmas is still one month away but I'm sure many parents are already planning how to spend this festive season with their little ones. As for me, I'll probably be busy cleaning the house and preparing for the arrival of our new family member, maybe I will do some Christmas baking too! I'm sure ZY will love to help. ^_^

Pregnant @ 26weeks

Went for routine checkup yesterday and was told that bay bay is now about 900 gm and in a breach position. He is now very active day and night, it is especially difficult for me to sleep as he will kick me if I sleep side-way.

I 'm concern that bay bay will be overdue like ZY as induce labour and the artificial breaking of the waterbag is extremely painful. So I asked Dr Wee if its possible that bay bay will be overdue too and he said highly possible!!! #_#
However, he said that he will ask MW to give me more housework to do later in my pregnancy to help in the labour!! OMG! I must seriously consider changing doctor liao, shouldn't he stand on my side? I'm already doing most of the housework now, including mopping the floor while MW merely washes the dishes if I cook leh... Hehehe..just joking lah, I know Dr Wee is just trying to be helpful by suggesting ways for me to have a smoother delivery.

Anyway, took this picture today with the doctor's permission. Never got to take such photo during my previous pregnancy as I was in subsidised class then, hence always did my ultrascan in another room with the sonographer. and they always said photography is Strictly Not Allowed!

Birthday Celebration @ Zoo

Hiaz..today is my birthday.

And to celebrate me getting a year older, we brought ZY to the Zoo. We have been to the zoo many times already, hence for this trip, we decided to focus mainly on letting ZY play in the Rainforest Kidzworld.

Enroute, ZY requested to visit her "old friend" the White Tiger, Hassan the Elephant and also the Emu and Kangaroo.

The "Artist" at work

We realized today that there is no elephant by the name of Hassan and duly told ZY so, however, she was so shaken by the news that I can see her eyes watering. Hence, in order to please her, I told her that she can name all the elephants that needed bathing Hassan. (Note: We heard the zookeeper calling one of the elephant who refused to bath, "Hassan", the last time we visited the zoo)

ZY had a fantastic time playing at the water play. She was at first unwilling to wet her hair and so refused to go too near to the water features. However, she gradually warms up and even tried the water slides towards in end! This little girl had so much fun in the park that she later told me it's a regret that we did not play at the water play the last few times we were here!

The sky suddenly turns dark around 12 p.m. and started to pour when we were having our lunch at Ah Meng Cafe (btw, serves delicious laksa). Hence we ended our trip today earlier than usual and headed home for ZY's nap so that we can go to Orchard this evening.

Korea (26 Oct 2009) - Seoul

Finally, its the last day of our 8D6N Korea trip. We checked out of our hotel at 8a.m.

After our breakfast, we were brought to Faceshop and the wholesale local specialties shop for some last minute shopping. ZY took these photos of the busy Seoul street while we were on the way to the airport.

At the airport, the happy little girl managed to find an indoor playground which she played for a brief 5 mins as we were late for our flight home!!

Overall, its a nice time spent with family. It'll be a long time before we can travel as a family again, at least for another 3 years or so? Until then, all these photos provides us with sweet memories of the time we had in Korea.

Korea (25 Oct 2009) - Seoul

Finally today we had Chinese breakfast. Even though the porridge, mantou and you tiao were cold when served, we happily chomped them down. ^_^

After breakfast, we went to the Royal Pass where we can have a bird's eye view of Seoul City and N Seoul Tower with the use of the telescope.

Next, we went to the ginseng Monopoly showroom. Although the guide highly recommend it to us, we did not buy any ginseng as I do not like the taste of ginseng.

Thereafter, we went to the second floor of the building to enjoy a kimchi making session. Each of us wore an apron and started mixing the pre-mix kimchi paste into the cured cabbage. ZY had so much fun making the kimchi!

We also had an opportunity to wear the traditional Korean costume, Hanbok. ZY looks so cute in it. ^_^

After lunch, we were taken to COEX and Ewha Women University Shopping Street for some retail therapy. The things in Korea is not cheap but those made in Korea are very good in quality. Their skincare products like Laneige, Etude and Faceshop are exceptionally cheap, almost 50% cheaper than Singapore! Hence, I bought lots of face masks and exfoliating gel, enough to last me 2 years at least, hehehe.

Lastly, we went to Lotte World. ZY was the happiest, of course. However, after a round of merry-go-round, she started to become extremely cranky during dinner time. It might be due to extreme "hungriness" or tiredness, she just refused to listen to any of us, at one time, we even had to come out of Pizza Hut before ordering as she was making alot of noise. Finally she calmed down and we managed to eat some pizza . Not surprisingly, ZY became 'normal' again and was all smile again after dinner. So MW took the job of taking her to all the rides, while the mommies go on for further shopping spree!

Korea (24 Oct 2009) - Muju & Seoul

We had our breakfast at this charming cafe. Although I found the food average, the atmosphere and decor more than make up for it!

We woke up especially early today so that we could take photos of the beautiful surrounding.

After an hour ride, we reached the Heritage Park where we will get to learn more about South Korean's origins and traditions. The top most popular surnames are Park, Kim, Lee. We happened to find MW's surname Lim and my mum's Loh here too!

ZY insisted on standing beside my mum but refused to smile. Hiaz..

ZY playing with some of the traditional Korean games

Next, Everland Theme Park! ZY has been waiting for this for the whole day and we finally reached there at about 1p.m. As today was Saturday, the theme park was extremely packed with locals and tourists alike. We had to queue for at least 1 hr for each ride and my brother who wanted to ride on the world highest wooden roller coaster queued for 2 hr! However, we still managed to squeeze in 3 rides. ^_^

We played till 6.30p.m. at the park and then proceeded to have our dinner of BBQ pork belly wrapped in lettuce leaf.
