Christmas 2011

It's the time of the year again and ZhiYu is the happiest of us all as she gets to receive many Christmas presents which mostly consist of toys. This year, DinYang who is 21months old, gets to enjoy the holiday too as he is now old enough to appreciate the Christmas tree that we set up at home and love to dance along the Christmas songs.

Assembled a DIY Gingerbread house which unfortunately "collaspe" not long after I took this photo! Oops!

As usual, we went to Sembawang beach in the evening and stayed there for...em...maximum 2 minutes before it started raining! What a downer! The kids were so looking forward to the playground with the swings :-(

Staycation @MBS

Lucky for us, we got a two nights free hotel stay at the MBS as my mum-in-law's friend, who is a member of the casino, is tired of staying at the hotel :)

As usual, the kids are super excited and looking forward to the swimming pool.

Surprisingly, the kids are not afraid of the height whereas it was Ah Mah, who said her legs turn wobbly.^_^

DinYang has the bad habit of putting his fingers in his mouth.No matter how I sanitise his fingers, he will touch everything and then immediately stuck into his mouth!

For a Good Cause

This year, ZhiYu and I joined in the Boys' Bridgade annual SHARE-A-GIFT event. After some explanation to ZhiYu, she happily agreed to take out $20 from her bank account and used it to buy something useful at the supermarket.

We went to the NTUC supermarket at Simei for some grocery shopping as the Boys' Bridgade has a collection station placed there.

It's a good opportunity for me to teach ZhiYu the virtue of giving and sharing. She has a habit of wasting and it's a good time for me to explain to her that some others less fortunate people might not even have enough food to eat and their babies are mostly skinny and unhappy. Hope that ZhiYu knows that she is a very lucky girl and there are many less fortunate people around us. She will treasure and appreciate all that she has.

Play, Play and more Play

MW's sister managed to book her company's chalet for 3D2N and we happily packed our barang barang and headed off to the beach. We love this resort.. I love to come here as I do not have to worry about housework and clean up the mess the kids had made, MW loves it because he do not have to go to work, ZY loves it obviously since she can swim and play all she wants and DY loves it because he can climb up and down the spiral staircase!

My mum and brother came with us this time and they loved the place too!

Last Day of K1

Today is ZY last day of school, she has completed K1 and will be going to K2 next year! How times fly!

We brought the gingerbread man cookies that we had baked to share with ZY's classmates. According to ZY and her teachers, the kids love the cookies very much! ^_^

I took the opportunities to take some photos of the class as some of ZY's friends will be going to another class.

Cookies Cookies

ZY and I were very busy as we baked and decorated a large batch of cookies today. ZY had a fun time decorating the cookies, which were butter cookies disguised as gingerbread man. ^_^

ZY decorated most of these except the two at the right side. So much improvement as compared to the ones she decorated at Kidz Can Bake.

Pretty, doesn't it? ^_^

I've made some for the teachers too!

Kidz Can Bake

I've brought a Groupon for a cookie baking class last week and ZY was eagerly looking forward to it. I did not join in the class as I want ZY to be more independent. Too bad she was still feeling insecure and wanted me to stand outside the classroom for most of the lesson, hiaz...

Most of the kids came with a parents. ZY would turn around and peek at me to make sure that i did not "abandon" her.

Not bad as this is ZY's first time decorating cookies with icing.

She can't wait to try the cookies! She ate all except keeping the star-shaped cookie for Gong Gong and Po Po as promised. ^_^

Land, Sea & Air Affairs

When I saw the groupon deal at $39.90 for a ticket to the Singapore Flyer, the Hippo Cruise and the Open-Top Heritage Bus, I quickly bought two tickets as ZhiYu has always wish to go aboard the open-top bus and river cruise. I also bought a child ticket at $34.90 for ZhiYu while DinYang go onboard for free. ^_^

It was an excellent day as the sky was cloudy with occasional sun.

We totally enjoyed the 1hr bus journey and it's great to be a tourist for a day!
