I Love Museum!

I always wanted to bring ZY to the National Museum of Singapore as it is a place that holds fond memories of my childhood. Since young, I like to visit this place as it was within walking distance from my old home @ Bencoolen Street. The entrance fee was only 50 cents then, hence my brother and I will walk there quite often and loitered around the place for the whole afternoon. ( we esp. love the miniature display of the olden days of S'pore since Sir Stamford Raffles' times!)

The National Museum is having an event called the The Children's Season. It includes a variety of hands-on activities, games, roving acts, storytelling performances and classic family movies.

In collaboration with I Theatre’s ACE! Festival 2010. ZY loves the finger puppets.

Children's Season: Cartoon Mural By Cartoonist Miel (Singapore)

ZY drew 'something' and got to paste her drawing at the corner of the mural. ^_^

No visit to the museum will be complete without posing in front of the infamous spiral staircase! MW said that it will bring back luck to step onto the staircase, hence ZY only stood beside it. Anyone know whether it's true?

We ended our museum tour with a vegetarian meal at Novus the cafe inside the museum.
Afterall, it's Vesak Day!

How We Spend Our Free Time

Recently ZY is hooked on this internet website that was recommended in a parenting magazine. It's a very interesting and fun site as it teaches children alphabets, sequencing, songs and many more. Many childcare facilities in the western countries encourages their children to "play" the many games in the site. Click on this link: http://www.poissonrouge.com/poissonrouge.php (ZY has added it as her favourite webpage! ^_^)

This is what ZY had done (scribble) using one of the application. Look like some kind of abstract painting by a famous artist, doesn't it? ^_^

Another recommendation is a book that I'm reading now about parenting. It is a very popular book written by a Japanese and has won many awards. I find it an easy read and I especially love the cartoon illustrations found at the beginning of each topics. Many times, I found myself laughing at the illustrations as I can see myself doing the exact same thing as the mummy in it!

Z.H.I.Y.U. That's My Name!

Hurray!! ZY is finally able to write her own name!
Though she might be slower than peers of her own age in terms of writing, I'm not too worry about it as I believe she will eventually learn it at her own pace.

I'm pleasantly surprise today when ZY told me she can write her name because I never let her practices at home. Great job my dear! ^_^

Half Naked Photos and more..

Can't resist the temptation of capturing this photo of Din Yang wearing only his diaper. Took this photo while I'm sponge bathing him one evening when he was in a relaxed mood. ^_^

Playground Fun

MW finally brought ZY to this 'new' playground last weekend. It's 'new' to ZY since we have never brought ZY to this playground before as it is situated a far 15-20 mins walk away from our flat. I said 'finally' because we had seen it many times when we took the MRT and everytime we see it, we'll say that one day, we'll bring ZY here. I'm ashamed to say that ZY is already 4 years old but we never did, hehehe.

So last Sunday, MW finally kept his promise and brought ZY here. The playground is very big and it actually looks more like a park than a neighbourhood playground.

According to MW, there are also swings here, but ZY don't dare to sit on it. However, she did manage to walk across this wobbly rope bridge.

Playful daddy probably had too much fun playing with ZY that he forgot to take more photos. Maybe we will bring DY to this playground some day too and take more pics. Arh..some day..
