Our Staycation @Swissotel Merchant Court

We checked-in on Sunday for an one-night stay at Swissotel Merchant Court. We had made use of our Feed at Raffles card special room rate voucher which cost S$150++ for a weekend stay. Even though our room has two big beds, ZY still insist that she wanted to sleep in a baby cot. She intended to 'squeeze' herself into this tiny cot which we highly suspected that she would not be able to make it through the night.

This is the view from our room. We can see both the Singapore River and Clarke Quay ^_^

As it's drizzling the whole day on Sunday, we did not went to the pool. We went to Szechuan Court at Swissotel the Stamford for a pre-birthday celebration for MW. Mw loves the sharksfin soup served in this restuarant but to his utter disapointment, the restaurant has changed its menu and stopped serving sharksfin soup! So in the end he ordered the Sea Cucumber with Fish Maw soup which is so-so only :(
We also ordered the Cod Fish with Fermented Bean Crumbs, Stewed Pork Beancurd and the yummy Szechuan Fried Rice.
We also had a cake blowing session at the restaurant.
After a heavy dinner, we took a walk along Clarke Quay. It was a really buzzling place and ZY had a great time watching the river boat cruising along the Singapore River.
We were finally able to take a dip at the pool the next morning and both ZY and MW had a great time! ZY did not dare to slide down the pool slide but MW had great fun clowning around. ^_^
This two photos were taken at the same jacuzzi but one was taken when ZY was just 7 months old and the other taken 3 years later. How times fly..

Took this photo while ZY was enjoying her bubble bath. She proudly announced that it's her bubble clothes! ^_^"
Finally, we went to the Ellenborough Market Cafe for a buffet lunch as a sweet ending to this short staycation. The spread was not as sumptuous as before but we still managed to some how stuffed ourselves full, hehehe.

Vivocity

MW was on leave last Wednesday so the three of us went to Vivocity for a half day shopping spree. I love to go shopping during the weekdays as the shops are not so crowded and the service are better too. (Initially, we wanted to go to ION but since we are wearing our comfortable Crocs sandals, we 'dare not' venture into the mall as my sis-in-law friends set off the security alarm the moment they stepped into one of the boutique, reason being customers wearing sandals/slippers are not allowed to enter?? Not sure if its true or not but better don't embarrassed ourselves)

We tried to set off as early as possible but after some dilly dally on ZY side, we only managed to reach Vivo around 10a.m. We headed straight to the outdoor playground as promised. After half an hour of play, it was getting hotter so we quickly went back inside the shopping mall. Both MW and I managed to buy some clothes from G2000 at super reasonable price :)

After that, we went to our favourite Japanese restaurant, Sushi Tei, for our lunch. We got a window seat and the view was fantastic!

This was what we had ordered that day, ZY simply loves the super juicy salmon roes on top of the char grilled salmon sushi. She also managed to have her favourite Edamame which was not available at Sanshigo @ Ebisboshi Shotengai .

Here We Go Again!

We went to the NSRCC Chalet again last week for a short 2 nights stay.

It was a fun and relaxing break and this time round ZY favourite Jiu Jiu joined in the fun!

We were so 'lucky' to come on the day where they were having a bi-annual repair & maintenance on the pools, so we had no choice but to 'compensate' ZY by bringing her to the Jacuzzi in the Fitness Club. She had so much fun playing the game "Who can find the leaves first" with her daddy in the Jaccuzi ^^

We also brought along ZY's little bike this time so that she could ride at the nearby beach.

Some of the pictures taken by ZY while his daddy and Jiu Jiu were busy preparing the bbq.

Finally, on the last day, ZY woke up at 8a.m. eagarly anticipating her dip in the pools. As it was a tuesday, we had the pool all to ourselves :D

Sanshigo @ Ebisboshi Shotengai

We went to this Japanese restaurant situated at Illuma Bugis last week for dinner. Initially we wanted to go to our favourite Japanese restaurant, Sushi Tei at Raffles City, but changed our mind as we wanted to try something new. What a BIG MISTAKE!!

Other than the some what nice decor, the food is a total disappointment :(

The service is also not up to standard as they answered questions with a simple yes and no. They were also extremely stingy with their condiments and we needed to keep on requesting for wasabi (which comes in a pathetic 10-cents coin serving).

Food wise, even though they claim that their food are flown direct from Japan, personally it doesn't taste any better than those serve in other restaurants.

Anyway, I took some photos of some of the food dishes that we've ordered that day.

Will definitely not patronize this restaurant again, even ZY agreed with me!

I've Upgraded!!

My dad bought this "BIG GIRL" bicycle for ZY as her existing bicycle is too small for her. At first, ZY was a bit apprehensive and was afraid that she might fall down from the bicycle. However, this little girl quickly got used to the height and manage to ride on it. As her legs are still a bit too short and she is not able to peddle a full circle, she still manage to find a way to go about it.
